What shooting the western suburbs actually involves
The western suburbs are where property media either justifies the price or quietly undermines it. A home in Dalkeith or Peppermint Grove carrying a seven-figure guide cannot be marketed with a phone-shot gallery, and the vendors here know it — the appraisal conversation almost always includes what the campaign is going to look like.
The stock demands different work from the rest of Perth. A lot of it is architect-designed, which means the photography has to respect the geometry rather than fight it — straight verticals matter more here than anywhere. Original character homes through Subiaco, Shenton Park and West Leederville are frequently narrow and heavily treed, so the lens choice and the time of day do most of the work. And a huge proportion of the good stuff faces west, which is precisely why twilight earns its keep in this pocket.
Drone is worth it more often here too. Block size, river glimpses, proximity to the coast and to Claremont and Subiaco's amenity are all things a buyer at this price point is paying for, and none of them photograph from the front lawn.
